What are the best places to live 5-7 miles out of the city of Portland OR? What are the worst? Please include how long it takes for a person to take public transport to get to the city from your fav areas.
The MAX line (light rail) runs through Beaverton which has a lot of respectable areas to live in and a number of apartment complexes directly adjacent to the stations. This is an area almost exactly in the 5-7 mile range west from downtown Portland. The time to travel from Beaverton to the heart of downtown by MAX is in the order of 25-40 minutes.

Global Warming Exists weather its natural or done-by-humans, the ice on the rocks of Antarctica and Greenland will add to water-levels unlike the ice already in the sea.
The waters may rise to a maximum of 20 metres like they did before, where would be the best places to live if this happens?
Thanks.
Mmturtle, the antartica ice is not displacing the water it is on an island, its on rock not floating like much ice close to it, same for Greenland.
The higher you are the better.
Pick somewhere dry, there will be more rainfall over the next couple of decades.

This is definitely not her best performance because she was sick, but I still think she did a great job

A PLACE TO LIVE (USA) “It’s a perfect storm of high land value and low median income. We’re in the midst of one of the worst housing crises in modern history.” So says talking-head Councilman Eric Garcetti in this documentary about the struggle by queer senior citizens to find housing in Los Angeles. The film follows seven elderly gays and lesbians from the time they first hear about the building of a housing complex for senior LGBT folk in early 2006, through the excruciating wait a year later to hear if they’ve won the lottery for admittance. As the seniors share their stories of illness, poverty and homophobia, they prove themselves heroes and heroines whose humor and resilience are as inspiring as their hardships are heart piercing.

I currently live in North Carolina, and are thinking about moving to either Texas, Arizona, or New Mexico. For those who live in those areas, what are the best places to relocate, considering living expenses, jobs, safety, amenities, etc.? Consider that we are a couple with a 1 year old little girl. I cross out Southern California. It's nice, but I've been there, and it's way too expensive.
Unless you like Desert rule out west texas, almost all of NM and Almost all of southern AZ
I have family in Prescott AZ. It is a historical town in Northern Az Alot like Colorado(high Country, lots of trees, all four seasons)
Cost of living is about half of what it is in So Cal, and you are about 2-3 hours from Phoenix, vegas, Skiing etc
I alo would Suggest looking into Seattle area (Lots of job available, Cost of living about 70% of So Cal's)
I need to know where the best and worst places to live in florida are, because my boyfriend and I are going to be moving there in the next month or so. We have been looking at places to live but we don't know what areas are "good", and which are "bad." So if you could give me a few pointers that would be great! Also, if you know of any places to live in the $600 range that would be even more fantastic!! Thank you!
i live in sarasota/bradenton area and love it ! and prices on rent just recently dropped so you could get a place for 600. it depends weather you want to be in a more rural or city area… and what you do for a living… i would say st. pete and tampa have higer crime then sarasota/bradenton but theres good and bad in each like most citys…. im aprox. 15 min. from the ocean (and love it !!) good luck !
