My mom wants to move to Greece for about 6 months. What are the best places to live in for a single mother of 4 children? Is it better to live on an island, or on the mainland? She wants to live as close to the beach as possible, and living near schools aren’t an issue, because she’s going to home school.

Shaping Singapore Together
PM Lee showed the transformation Singapore underwent in the last five decades with a montage of pictures from the past and present — from housing and community centres, to opportunities available and the Singapore Armed Forces.
He said Singapore continues to renew itself by delivering a first-class education system, a convenient public transport for all, and creating green spaces and a vibrant city centre to make it the best place to live, work and play.
Taking the audience on a fly through video of the Marina Bay, he also gave Singaporeans a glimpse of what the centerpiece of the new city will look like in a few years.
PM said the way we celebrated the National Day showed what sort of nation Singapore is - our commitment to excellence, the ability to organize, mobilize and deliver results and the spirit of the people.
All this was epitomized in the Pledge moment, when all were united in one voice, saying what it truly means to be Singaporean.

Where is best place to live in UK for people who hate sunshine weather? Where is most cloudy/glum weather in UK in all over the year?
But seriously! No answers like "everywhere" please! I think about place in UK similar to Seattle in US. Place where you can see cloudy sky at least 300 days in year, even in summer. When sun is REALLY rare thing to see.
The Shetlands which are islands even further North than the Orkneys.
Recently Fair Isle was advertising for people.
Otherwise Aberdeen, Scotland is great.

My gay friend is looking to move to a place that is more accepting of gays, because he is having a hard time being himself in his hometown because of discrimination against gays and lesbians. He is also having a hard time finding gay men to date. He is looking to relocate and I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on the best gay places to live?
I’m sure lots of people are suggesting San Francisco and/or Manhattan, but those are very expensive places to live. So, your friend would need to bring a sizable bankroll to live on while he searched for work.
I’m in San Diego, but I don’t like the so-called gay community here. Lots of drag queens and egomaniacs.
I’ve been very impressed with Seattle — it has a thriving gay community, plus a lot of non-gay elements that are wonderful. Lots of rain, though.
There’s a very strong gay community in West Hollywood, but it also strikes me as having a lot of shallow people as well.
Your friend should check out the website for The Advocate — I’m sure they’ve done at least one article in the past couple of years about the best and worst places to live.
