I have recently excepted a role in Perth, Australia. However, live in England and therefore do not know the area at all. My role is based in Perth, however, would like to know the best areas to live around Perth but within commuting distance of Perth. Thank you
all buses departs and arrives at the Perth City or CBD. commuting is not a problem if you live within the nearby suburbs like south perth, como, east victoria park, etc.
here’s the website for transperth. you could see the timetable, number of buses and their routes.

The Perth Metro area basically covers everything that people from outside the area call "Perth". It stretches from Joondalup in the North to Rockingham in the South and as far out as Midland in the East (there is no West, that’s the Indian Ocean). Areas such as Cottesloe or Ocean Beach are coastal, as is Fremantle.
By Perth do you mean the CBD or one of its suburbs, Subiaco, Osborne Park, Malaga, Rockingham, Kwinana etc etc.
Most people would expect to travel between 20 and 60 minutes to/from work in the rush hour. Some of us live much nearer to work and take only 10-15 minutes.
You need to get some maps, online or otherwise, and start looking at where you will work and consequently where you might want to live; e.g. near a train station, near work, near the freeway, near the beach etc.
If you edit your question with more precise details I can give you a more precise answer.

Greenwood is only a 10min drive (Not in pealk hour) and rent is still OK. Plus all the buses eith go to warwick train station or straight into Perth. I know a house that will be coming up for rent in October. It’s nice 4 bed plus study, 3 toilets 2 bathrooms, huge games room, dining room, formal lounge, huge kitchen with a new oven, dish washer. It also has a 10m pool and a huge 2x 2.5m sand pit for the kids. It should be on realestate.com.au soonish.
